If you are an ordinary user, the best computer speakers for you might just be the ones your computer came with. Most laptops come with computer speakers that have a pretty high level of fidelity. What they don’t have, however, is much bass. If you are only using your speakers for casually putting music on in the background, a little bit of gaming, or voice over IP, what you have is probably just about perfect. If you want a little bit more body, you can add a woofer to fill out the sound a little bit, but there’s no need to spend a lot of money on a sophisticated audio setup.

As the owner of an electronics store specializing in audio equipment, I get asked all the time what the best computer speakers are. People are often surprised at my reply. I succeed in my business by trying to give honest answers and not automatically directing people to the most high-tech and sophisticated audio there is. As an honest salesman, I have to say there is no simple answer.

Of course, if you are a serious music listener, the way to find the best computer speakers Is to look them up in consumer reports. You can spend as much as you want on high quality audio components, and you are generally rewarded for the money you invest. Nonetheless, even if it is supposed to be the best computer speaker out there, don’t buy it without listening to it first. Some speakers, for example, have too warm a sound for some users. Others feel a little bit tinny. Different audio speakers are geared towards different listeners, so there really is no one best choice. The best computer speakers, like the best music, is a matter of opinion.

Then again, different people have different tastes. In gamer magazines, the best multimedia computer speakers reviews consistently go to speakers with a lot of bass. It seems that gamers really like low-end power – no doubt to stimulate the sonic jar of explosions hitting nearby, or the growl of monsters in some underground dungeon. If you find big bass to be thrilling, by all means go out to your local audio store and invest in some bass. Don’t make the mistake that most people do, however, of assuming that more powerful speakers are necessarily better. Having too much bass without enough mid and high range can actually distort the sound of music.

Ipod Player

I have to admit that before I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase an Apple iPod of my own, I couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about.  My friends who had iPods absolutely raved about them and insisted that I didn’t know what I was missing.  All I saw was another portable music player that I didn’t need.  I had recently spent several hundred dollars on a minidisc player and really couldn’t afford to buy another “toy”.

But everywhere I went, I saw the ubiquitous white headphone cords that marked people as iPod users.  I also read about these music players all over the Internet, and, surprisingly, almost all the news was positive, which never happens for any product.  That made me finally think that I really was missing the boat here.  I then saw a special offer from an audiobook website that convinced me to purchase an iPod after holding out for a couple of years.  The audiobook site would give me a certificate for a $100 rebate on an iPod if I signed up for a yearlong membership.  I was actually going to sign up anyway, so I thought I would take advantage of that offer just as an added bonus.

All at once, I understood why these little music players were such a big success.  They were just so cool and convenient!  Now I didn’t have to flip through all the pages of my CD case in order to find a particular song that I wanted.  In fact, I didn’t have to carry my CDs around at all anymore.  I put them all in a closet and haven’t touched them since.  With my iPod, I could get to any song in a matter of seconds by rotating the fun-to-use click-wheel that was standard on all Mini models at that time.  I could also create playlists so that my favorite songs could come on in a particular order, or I could turn the playback mode to “Random” so that my favorite songs could come on in no particular order at all.

After my iPod arrived (I went with the Mini model), I was instantly hooked.  I loved how tiny it was and how easy it was to set up.  I spent the next several days converting my CD collection to MP3 files so I could fill up my new player with lots of different songs.  I even went to the iTunes music store and purchased a couple of songs, which I had never done before in my life.  I also had several audiobook titles from my new membership, and those were soon added to my iPod library as well.

Even though I’ve had my iPod for a couple of years now, I am still as addicted to it as ever.  This is by far one of the best gadgets I’ve ever owned and I highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying a portable MP3 player.

The next step for me was to buy all the cute iPod accessories that I could.  I bought a Neoprene skin to protect it from scratches, a neck strap for hands-free use, and an antenna that allowed my iPod tunes to be piped into any FM radio.  Yes, I had become one of those people that never left home without it!

You can get your Verizon Wireless ringtones by opening up your mobile phone. Not all models support this, but many of the new ones on the market do. You can go and look through the many different services have to offer, and then you download directly to your phone. This may take a bit longer than downloading to your computer, but you don’t have to take the time to then move the ringtone from Verizon Wireless from your computer to your phone. In a way, you are actually saving time when you get them this way. You may pay a bit more this way, but there are times when just trying it out can be free and the ringtone can be on the lower side of regular prices.

When ringtones first came out, most of them were monotone versions of popular songs. These were great for what they were worth, but they soon became outdated by poly and true tone ringtones. Most cellular companies now have ways to supply their customers with ringtones that they can use on their phones. The market is huge and they want the money. When you want to get Verizon Wireless ringtones, you have many different ways you can get them, and those with prepaid service can get them too.

In the past, those with prepaid service had a very hard time getting Verizon Wireless ringtones. Today, however, this is something that they can do. At this time those customers can not get the tones directly from the Verizon Wireless web site, but they can browse through selections on their phone and download directly. The only problem with these ringtones from Verizon Wireless is that they are more limited in selection than those that you can find online. However, there are many services from which to choose, and you are bound to find at least a few that are what you may be looking for in a ringtone.

If you don’t want to do that, or if your phone won’t support that at this time, you can download Verizon Wireless ringtones straight from their web site. They offer a huge selection and all you have to do is to browse through and choose what you want. I am not sure if you can download them directly to your phone through the web site just yet, but that could be true now, or will be in the near future. You then do what you want with your Verizon Wireless ringtones.

The Super Nintendo was always one of my favorite gaming consoles.  As the leader of the pack during the days of the first 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System, the Japan based company had to keep the ball rolling when the world was ready for 16-bit systems.  Their follow up to the hit NES, the Super Nintendo, was everything you could’ve expected from the game makers and more.

The one Super Nintendo game I can remember everyone owning, and everyone playing for hours on end was ‘Street Fighter II’.  This was definitely the most popular console game during the time, and the Sega Genesis never really produced any single game that was nearly as popular.  To this day, I still play Street Fighter II now and then, though perhaps not with the same obsession I had when it first came out.  For a few years there, Street Fighter II looked as though it was going to become an Olympic sport; everyone was playing it, and it was some kind of testimony to your greatness if you were very good at it.

What made the Super Nintendo such a good system to have was hands down its selection of games.  Super Nintendo games dominated the 16-bit video game market, and were only rivaled in number and quality by the Sega Genesis games.  Although at times it was hard to say who was the leader of the market during this period, anyone who owned both systems (like me) very likely played their Super Nintendo the most.

Of course, the Sega Genesis made some great games as well, and was a good rival for the Super Nintendo.  However, my Sega Genesis broke several years ago, and I don’t really miss it all that much.  If my Super Nintendo broke, I’d be devastated!

There were a wide variety of other very good Super Nintendo games as well, and I still play a lot of them once in awhile.  One other Super Nintendo game that always made an impression on me was called ‘Shadow Run’.  This was a very innovative and unusual Action/RPG style game that took some serious risks, and I think was probably a bit ahead of its time.  I’m just now beginning to see games similar to Shadow Run becoming more popular.  That was another thing I loved about Super Nintendo games, they were very often original and well thought out, unlike so much of the formulaic junk that comes out for consoles today.

Most buy portable gps navigators that they can have in their cars. Some are not portable in the sense that they are installed, but there are many models that you can take with you wherever you go. Most don’t need them in other places than in the car, but if you have more than one, it is nice to have navigators that are portable so that you can move it from vehicle to vehicle when they are needed the most. These portable navigators can fit in any small space, and would easily go in a purse for when they are needed.

There are many things that come on the market that I am pretty sure I can do without. If I have made it this far, why can’t I live without it? That is a good question. Most things are not necessities, but they do make life better, and can even be safety issues. I have yet to have an iPod, but that won’t be something that would mean the difference between life and death. Portable navigator, on the other hand, can do a bit more than just give you directions to the nearest golf course when you are on vacation.

All of the things these portable navigators can do are great, but you can think of them as a practical way to stay safe. I know that I have been on trips where I have gotten lost, and ended up in places that were less than safe. I have also been lost where there was no where to stop for directions. When you have portable navigation systems, you have what you need to get out of a tricky area without unlocking your doors and taking your chances. That alone can make the difference between a fun trip and a disaster that you will never forget.

When it comes to traveling, portable navigator is useful in so many ways. Instead of relying on maps and printing out directions online, you have a piece of technology that can tell you step by step where to go, and some of them can even point out places of interest or guide you to attractions in areas when you are on vacation. Even better, they work on their own, which means that you don’t have to have a link to anything else to get information. These portable navigators may have to be updated from time to time, but they are pretty much self sustaining.

Strobe Lights

I have been spinning records for about 10 years ago, so I have had plenty of time to play with various kinds of DJ lighting. Spinning lights, laser displays, disco balls – they are all familiar to me. I have even used string lights sometimes to create a simple, relaxed ambiance if I am playing downbeat stuff in a chill room. By far the most important component, however, is the strobe light. Without strobe lights, you just can’t have a dance party.

Of course, strobe lights are not just useful for dance clubs. You may not have had a chance to think about it, but flashing lights serve all kinds of purposes. Cops don’t have the flashing lights just to be annoying – they’re meant to intimidate you and get your attention. Even a bright searchlight can be ignored after a while, but flashing lights with intense, ever-changing patterns are extremely difficult to ignore. Strobe lights are also useful for home alarms, car security systems, and a variety of other purposes. Sometimes, a simple flashing light is enough to scare off an otherwise very determined intruder.

Still, my favorite use of strobe lights is in the club. I love to go out dancing, having a good time and hanging out with my friends. Having the right lighting effects really helps me create the perfect atmosphere for a party anytime. Whether it is in a big club or a friend’s basement, the addition of a few simple DJ supplies can get everyone to loosen up and have a good time. It is really amazing how responsive the brain is to things like that. It is almost as if we were all biologically programmed to party!

Everyone is familiar with strobe lighting to some degree or another, but few people really stop to think about it.  There is more to strobe lighting than meets the eye. People think of dancing as a fun recreational activity, but don’t understand the deeper things that are going on in the mind and body when you go dancing. It’s not just about enjoying the music and moving your body. There’s more to it than that. Music at the right beat and with the right feel puts you into a trance, and strobe lights add to this effect. Your senses go into overdrive, and you can end up oblivious to everything but the music. Having the right flashing lights set to the right frequency can greatly enhance this effect.

The Sony PlayStation console gaming system originally began as an agreement between Nintendo and Sony to develop a CD based add on to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).  Because Sony and Nintendo could not come to an agreement about licensing and profit sharing, Nintendo went to another company for the add on, leaving Sony with a half finished product.  Rather than abandoning their work and research, Sony decided to develop the add on into a stand alone system of its own, which was launched as the PlayStation console at the end of 1994 in Japan.  Less than a year later, it was launched in North America and Europe.  Nintendo filed an injunction against Sony for using what they claimed was a named they had a copyright to, however their injunction was denied.

Almost every one of the PlayStation consoles original games were well received globally, and spawned a series of sequels, some of which continued onto Sony’s follow up console, the PlayStation 2.  Tomb Raider, Final Fantasy, Grand Turismo, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear Solid are some such examples.

As Sony’s first gaming system, the PlayStation console met with tremendous success around the world.  It was the first console system to use CD’s instead of the traditional gaming cartridges used by what would become its major competitor, Nintendo’s N64.  It also relied on a polygon form of graphics, instead of the pixels used by the N64, giving its games a graphical realism that many feel rivals the more advanced N64.

The Sony PlayStation console uses a 32 bit RISC chip that runs at a 33.8688 megahertz clock speed.  The video processor was state of the art of its time, using 3D transformed polygons and displaying them at a rate of 360,000 polygons per second at a maximum resolution of 680 x 480.  It has two megabytes of system RAM, one megabyte of video RAM, and 512 kilobytes of sound RAM.

One of the only criticisms of the PlayStation console is that the laser reading system it uses to scan the CD’s tends to burn out with time, giving the system an often limited lifespan of use.  Fortunately, this is a problem that Sony seems to have worked around with their newer system, the PlayStation 2.

Although these specifications are almost laughable by today’s standards, the PlayStation Console still remains one of the most popular gaming systems around the world.  It has the most extensive library of games available for it, and with its now very affordable price, continues to be bought in large numbers.

When I first saw an advertisement for laptop notebook computers, I was in awe. I wanted one for sure, but how much do they cost? Well, as we can see these days, there are a spectrum of options and a wide range of prices. Whether you’re in search of that perfect PC, or Mac, you have much to sort through. What do you want your laptop notebook computer to do? This is the first thing my brother asked me when I went to him for advice. As a computer geek, he said that this is probably the biggest concern. Of course you want to choose from laptop notebook computers that are quality and reasonably priced, but it comes down to your goals.

Mac offers laptop notebook computers that provide wonderful digital editing capabilities, while many video game junkies live for PCs because of their game options. In all honesty, I believe that both arrays of laptop notebook computers virtually accomplish the same goals. You want to browse the Internet, no problem, you want to type a paper, no problem, both types offer these basics. It then comes down to personal preference. While I prefer the simplicity of a Mac, my wife has to have a PC.

If you’re just beginning your delve into the world of laptop notebook computers, you should definitely browse the web. Online you will find a deluge of information concerning different brands, prices, options, and ratings on laptop notebook computers. One thing is for sure, you want to choose the right laptop for your needs. These are not small purchases, and should last you for years to come. If you want more freedom with your computer; if you wish you could tote it to the local coffee shop for some surfing, then it’s time to check out laptop notebook computers. There’s a whole new world out there.

I remember back when I had my first PC. It was a Compaq desktop with an enormous monitor. Sure it got the task at-hand accomplished, it provided my first dose of cyberspace, and even helped me write a few papers, but man am I glad it’s gone. These days many of us have done away with the two ton monitors and giant towers. We simply want smaller. Haven’t you seen the commercials with the guy in the diner with his tiny computer? It’s like less than an inch thick. Now that’s small. In our busy, cluttered world, small electronics often equal convenience. That’s why now days most of us prefer laptop notebook computers over the large dinosaurs. With laptop notebook computers we have that wonderful ability to take our PC or Mac where ever we go.

Are you a big PS2 fan? I was astounded when this console came out. The big pitch didn’t only concern the playstation 2 games, but also the DVD option. That’s right; you could actually use your PS2 as a DVD player as well. Folks loved this convenient option. Suddenly they didn’t need to purchase a DVD player. It was an all-in-one deal. What a bargain! I recall the first time I headed over to my brother’s humble abode to check out his PS2 and his new playstation 2 videogames. Being out of the video game loop since the first Nintendo, I was utterly flabbergasted at the realistic graphics and sound effects. These new playstation 2 games are just so real. In fact, it continues to get better as time moves on. Those darn electronics and graphics always improve. It’s a never-ending cycle of fun and amusement.
